Car theft and break-ins are a real problem across the GTA. Bass Electronics installs anti-theft and vehicle security systems at our shop at 4000 Steeles Ave W, Unit 5 & 6, Vaughan, ON L4L 4V9, on Steeles Avenue West at the Toronto border, minutes from Woodbridge, Concord, North York, Etobicoke and Brampton. Layering an immobiliser, an alarm, GPS tracking and a connected dash cam makes your car a much harder target.

Autowatch Ghost immobilisers

The Autowatch Ghost is a hidden CAN-bus immobiliser. Before the car can be driven, you enter your own PIN sequence on buttons already in the car, such as steering-wheel or dashboard controls. Autowatch designs it to help stop key cloning and relay theft: there is no extra key fob to clone and no LED to give it away. Even with your key or a cloned fob, the car won't drive without your sequence.

A Ghost only works if nobody can find it, so the install matters. We fit it in our own shop.

Car alarms and security systems: Viper and Compustar

An aftermarket alarm adds sirens, door and trunk triggers and shock sensing, and many models include remote start.

Kill switch installation

A kill switch, or starter-kill relay, stops the engine from starting unless your system allows it. We install kill switches as part of our Compustar and Viper security and remote start systems, such as the Viper 5706V and Viper 5906V. Ask us about adding one to your install.

Insurance-approved certificates

We can provide insurance-approved certificates with qualifying anti-theft and security installs. If your insurance company asks for proof of an installed anti-theft device, call 647-350-7424 or visit our shop to ask whether your install qualifies.

Live LTE dash cams: Thinkware F790 Air and Drone XC

A connected dash cam records what happens to your parked car, and it can alert your phone too.

Thinkware F790 Air: a 2-channel dash cam with Full HD 1080p front and rear cameras, Super Night Vision, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, and parking mode. Paired with a MyCar2 smartphone module and TGM gateway, it can send crash and parking-impact video clips to the MyCar2 app and let you request a short Instant View clip of the front and rear cameras. Some features need a MyCar2 plan upgrade. See the MyCar2 MC200 + F790 Air bundle, and add interior coverage with the Thinkware SECURE-BUNDLE (MB100 + interior IR camera).

Drone XC-LTE: a 2K QHD (1440p) dash cam with LTE, Wi-Fi and GPS that works with Compustar and other Firstech remote start and security systems. Watch your car through LTE Live View in the DroneMobile app (streaming plan required). Most dash cams start parking recordings only from motion or impact. Drone XC can also start them from tilt, glass-break and door, hood, trunk or starter triggers. Add a rear camera (XC-RC1) or interior infrared camera (XC-IR1), or step up to the Drone XC2 with 3-channel support.

GPS trackers

If your car is taken, a GPS tracker shows you where it is. Options include the DroneMobile X2-MAX-LTE with built-in backup battery and security sensors, the battery-powered Drone XT-LTE magnetic tracker, the Fortin EVO-TRACK and Directed SmartStart Pro GPS. What is the best protection against relay theft and key cloning?
No single product stops every theft. Layering helps: an immobiliser like the Autowatch Ghost, a kill switch installed with a Compustar or Viper system, an alarm and a GPS tracker. Call us with your year, make and model and we'll recommend a setup.

Can a dash cam alert me if someone breaks into my car?
Yes, with a connected dash cam. The Drone XC-LTE and the Thinkware F790 Air with MyCar2 can send event alerts and video to your phone. Some features need a service plan.

Will the dash cam drain my battery in parking mode?
Parking mode uses power while the car is off. We hardwire dash cams and set them up for your vehicle. The Drone XC's Event mode records only while your system is armed.

Can I get a certificate for my insurance company?

Do you install for customers in Toronto?
