15-inch subwoofers are made for low, loud bass and SPL builds. They need a larger box and more amplifier power than 10s or 12s, so they suit SUVs, vans and trucks with room to spare. Before you buy
- Check the recommended box volume and make sure it fits your vehicle.
- Plan for a mono amplifier that matches the sub's RMS rating.
- Upgrade your power wire, and consider the "Big 3" wiring upgrade for high-power systems.

FAQ
Do 15s need a big box?
Yes. Most 15-inch subs need noticeably more air space than a 12. Check the manufacturer's recommended enclosure volume.
Sealed or ported?
Ported boxes are most common for 15s because they get the most output from the available power.
Can you install a 15-inch system?
